A few weeks ago, we got an update on the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox 1 versions of Destiny, a shooter from developer Bungie.
Today, the developers shared a few more details about those games.
The most notable is the PS4 and Xbox Ones’ exclusive Destiny 2: Forsaken, a multiplayer mode that allows players to explore and build new strongholds, and a single-player campaign mode that is a standalone campaign for Destiny 2.
The Xbox One version of Destiny 2 will come with its own single-user campaign, but it won’t be the same.
Bungie says that Forsaken will also feature cooperative and competitive play, and that the multiplayer mode is meant to complement the single-play experience.
“Forsaken will allow players to play with their friends in a competitive and cooperative mode,” the developers write.
“Cooperative and competitive modes will allow for the players to choose their own difficulty and level of play.
Forsaken will be available exclusively for the PS 4 and XB1, as well as for the Xbox One.
Both versions of Forsaken will feature a brand new weapon and a brand-new armor set.”
The developers also revealed that Forsaken’s multiplayer mode will launch in the US on September 17th, followed by the UK on September 25th, Australia on October 5th, and the EU on October 10th.
We’ll be able to get a better sense of the new content on PS4 when the new consoles are released on November 7.
For now, we’re just happy that we’re finally getting a chance to play the PSVR version of Forsaken.
