RK Manmohan Reddy, the CBI has sought Rs 100 crores from the former chairman of the company in a Rs 1,500 crore case of bribe allegedly paid by him to his brother-in-law in exchange for political favours.
In the plea filed in a Mumbai court, CBI sought the amount as it has a lot of other cases pending before it, including a case in which a former telecom minister was convicted of accepting bribes.
The CBI has been trying to get the former company chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) RK Mishra and his wife, former minister N.M. Mishra, to appear before the court for a bail hearing.
In March this year, the Supreme Court granted bail to RIL chairman RK Rao and his son N.
K Rao on charges of accepting bribe.
The former chairman was given bail on the same charge and the former minister was released on bail.
